2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid
Lots of automakers have jumped in on the green car race. One of the many ways to get there is by building a hybrid, a vehicle with two electric motors, one large battery pack, and one internal combustion engine. Together, this makes up the technology in many hybrids, like the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, a milestone in minivans.
Combined Fuel Economy
Fuel and Power
Powered by two sources of energy, the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid has a 16-kWh lithium-ion battery pack with two electric motors, and under the hood is Chrysler’s award-winning Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 engine. If driving on battery power alone, the minivan can travel up to 33 miles with zero emissions. With the V6 and battery pack working together, the vehicle has a combined fuel economy of 84 MPGe, and the vehicle’s total driving range is increased to 566 miles.
Engineering and Charging
With smart tech implemented such as regenerative braking, drivers can partially recharge their hybrid’s battery on-the-go. When braking, the Pacifica Hybrid’s regenerative braking system converts kinetic energy into electrical energy collected by one motor (the generator) that then transfers it to the battery. When the battery is running low, there are plenty of public EV and PHEV charging stations to charge on-the-go. When plugged into a 240-volt plug-in system, the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid can be fully recharged in two hours.
Convenient, Automatic Exterior
You can’t fight chemistry - many of us fall in love with our eyes, and many consumers are going to love the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid based on looks alone. That unique front grille, available LED lower light pipes, headlamp bezels - the beauty just begins. Plus, we all love a little personalization. This hybrid minivan is available in several colors, including its own exclusive Silver Teal Pearl Coat paint.
Looks are only the beginning though - the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is full of automatic features. A hands-free power sliding door that opens with a little kick below the side-body is available, and the same option can be found for the liftgate. Other options include LED tail lights and a tri-pane panoramic sunroof.
If the interior is where it counts, then you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the Pacifica Hybrid’s interior features. Many luxurious and convenient features return, starting with most models in the lineup having leather seating trim. With Stow ‘n Go seating for maximum cargo space, drivers can get rid of the third row altogether, and with the powerful Stow ‘n Vac, clean ups are a breeze. Plus, a class-exclusive easy tilt second row for easy access into the third row.
Luxury comes in many available features, such as heated and ventilated front row seating and power folding seats. If the minivan’s 7-passenger capacity has been met, there are several storage ports integrated into the front cabin. Of course, the floor that would usually store the Stow ‘n Go seats can also be made of use.
Let’s start off with the highlights - an all-new Uconnect Theater entertainment system, complete with internet access and two HD 10-inch touchscreens (available option). Match that up with a six speaker audio system and an 8.4-inch touchscreen, and you just need to make one choice - do you want to upgrade to a premium 13-speaker Alpine audio system? A 7-inch full-color driver information display is also built into the dashboard for automobile intel available at all times.
The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica has over 100 safety features, some of which parents of teen drivers will love. KeySense technology is offered, a programmable key fob that can limit speed and audio volume, mute audio altogether if seat belts are unbuckled, prevents the deactivation of certain safety features, and allows blocking of SiriusXM Radio channels.
Blind-spot monitoring is now a standard feature on the hybrid, and many features found on the Chrysler Pacifica options return, such as ParkSense Parallel/Perpendicular Park Assist and ParkSense with standard rear park assist and a back-up camera. Automatic features and advanced systems like Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Hold, Forward Collision Warning-Plus, and LaneSense Lane Departure Warning-Plus return for the hybrid as well.
