2021 Chrysler Pacifica
2021 marks the start of something new for the Chrysler Pacifica thanks to a massive makeover. Its new exterior styling mimics that of an SUV as the minivan aims to shake off all indications of the past. The grille, exterior lighting, liftgate and wheel designs are all new. 2021 also brings the arrival of available all-wheel drive and an overall shakeup of the minivan’s trims.
Avail. Engine Type
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica is available in four different trims — Touring, Touring L, Limited AWD, and the all-new top-tier Pinnacle AWD. A standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 rests under the hood of all 2021 Chrysler Pacifica minivans, regardless of trim. Far from sluggish, the 3.6-liter V6 generates 287 horsepower and is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. In terms of performance, the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica goes from 0-60 mph in only 7.3 seconds — impressive given that it’s a heavy minivan. According to the EPA, the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica has a fuel economy of 19 mpg in the city, 28 mpg on the highway, and a combined rating of 22 mpg, while the trims equipped with all-wheel drive are rated at 17 mpg in the city, 25 mpg on the highway, and 20 mpg combined.
2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid
As the only plug-in hybrid minivan on the market, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is lauded for its advanced powertrain. Just like on the gasoline-powered Chrysler Pacifica, a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine takes center stage, but is supplemented by two electric motors that are powered by a 16-kWh lithium-ion battery. According to the EPA, the 2021 Pacifica Hybrid can travel up to 33 miles on all-electric power and has a combined rating of 84 MPGe. Charging is simple thanks to the Level I 120-volt AC charging cord set that’s included. All it takes is a run of the mill wall receptacle and the portable charging cord set. Once the charging cord’s connector clicks into place, the charge active indicator lights will turn on and begin cycling from left to right. Once all five bars on the charge indicator are full, the minivan is fully charged.
This is not your mom’s minivan. Inspired by today’s SUVs, the 2021 Pacifica has a new grille, liftgate, exterior lighting, and wheel designs. The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica also offers an available S Appearance Package along with the Pacifica Red S Edition — both with stylish exterior accents that are sure to wow passersby. With bold black accents, stylish black badging, and 18-inch or available 20-inch aluminum wheels in a Black Noise finish.
Known for being airy and spacious, the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica’s interior cabin is filled with cubbies, slide-out bins, nifty storage solutions and more. The high-tier Limited and Pinnacle trims feature a taller center console that seamlessly blends in with the dashboard, nailing the minivan’s effort to showcase a more SUV-like feel. As for the Pinnacle trim, it certainly takes the concept of the minivan to high art thanks to its quilted-leather upholstery and matching lumbar pillows for the second-row captain’s chairs. When it comes to cargo storage space, the Pacifica does not disappoint — a total of 32 cubic feet are available after the third row of seats. A built-in vacuum cleaner is also an available option.
The 2021 Pacifica is the first Stellantis vehicle with the latest Uconnect 5 infotainment system with a 10.1-inch touchscreen display. Like we said, Uconnect 5 is new and features a reconfigurable home screen and Amazon Alexa integration. Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto come standard and can be connected wirelessly. There’s also an available Wi-Fi hotspot. The Pacifica’s cabin has up to 12 USB ports, including several that are the newer USB-C type that offer quicker charging for smart devices. Additionally, the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica is lauded for its best-in-class family entertainment system thanks to dual 10-inch HD touchscreens with a Blu-ray player, wireless headphones, wireless streaming capability, Bluetooth remotes, and built-in apps and games.
Safety Features and Warranty
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica comes standard with advanced multistage driver and front-passenger airbags, supplemental driver and front-passenger front-seat mounted side airbags, driver and front-passenger inflatable knee blocker airbags, and supplemental side-curtain for outboard passengers in all three rows. Even with a five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica goes above and beyond by offering buyers nearly every single driver-assistance feature available under the sun. Key safety features on the 2021 Pacifica include standard Automated Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, standard Blind-Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and standard Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane-departure Warning.
All Chrysler vehicles are covered by a 3-year or 36,000-mile basic warranty, a 5-year or 60,000-mile powertrain warranty, roadside assistance for five years or 60,000 miles, and rust-through coverage for five years.
