2022 Chrysler 300
Better with age, the 2022 Chrysler 300 remains one of the only large luxury sedans on the market. Powered by a standard V6 Pentastar engine, the 2022 Chrysler 300’s powertrain is completed by an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. There’s also an optional V8 engine available for those who demand a little more from their Chrysler 300, while the cabin is considered comfortable and spacious.
5.7-L HEMI V8
Avail. Engine Type
Three different trims make up the 2022 Chrysler 300 lineup, including the Touring, Touring L, and 300S trims. Across all trims it is the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that rests under the hood while boasting 292 horsepower, although the 300S trim does offer an available 5.7-liter HEMI V8 as an upgrade as well. All-wheel drive is available, but the Chrysler 300 is often lauded for its controlled body roll, and luxurious riding and handling. Thanks to the V6 under the hood, the 2022 Chrysler 300 has an EPA combined fuel economy estimate of 30 mpg, while the HEMI-powered 300S has a combined fuel economy of 23 mpg. All trims are paired with the same automatic TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission. Available on the 300S (the more performance-oriented trim) is a Sport Driving Mode, complete with features such as raised transmission shift points, calibrated paddle shifters, electric power steering for sport performance settings, and an increased accelerator pedal response.
What’s New for 2022?
As Chrysler gears up to make the switch over to electric powertrains, the 2022 Chrysler 300 remains more or less unchanged. All 2022 models include a standard N95 cabin air filter and the new Comfort Group Package which includes a security alarm and is available on the Touring L and 300S trims. Buyers can expect plenty of luxury and convenient features in a large sedan this plush; although an upgrade to the 300S trim means a stiffer suspension and handling that’s considered a bit rough for a luxury sedan.
The Chrysler 300 made it to the 2022 model year with its recognizable exterior intact. Heated exterior mirrors, solar control glass, chrome LED tail lamps, and automatic Bi-Function halogen projector headlamps are all standard across the 2022 300 lineup. All trims minus the base (Touring) trim have a dual-pane panoramic sunroof as an available upgrade. Wheel sizes and designs depend largely on the trim, with 17-, 18-, 19-, or 20-inch all available. An S Model Appearance Package is available for the 300S trim, complete with a body-colored fascia, premium SRT LED fog lamps, and a body-colored rear spoiler.
Interior features vary greatly across the Chrysler 300 lineup, all depending on the trim. Standard features include: a rear 60/40 folding seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat. Leather upholstery, an auto-dimming mirror, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, heated back row seats, a cargo net, and a black light sunshade are all available on the higher-tier trims. The 300S features the addition of steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, an analog clock with a nickel finish and blacked-out interior accents.
A UConnect infotainment system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen is standard across all trims, with steering wheel-mounted audio controls, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capabilities, integrated voice command with Bluetooth, a six-speaker audio system, and available SiriusXM Satellite Radio. Also standard across all trims is a media hub complete with two USB ports, an audio jack and a wireless charging pad. There’s also an optional Harman/Kardon Audio System that includes a 12-channel amplifier, five subwoofers, seven 3.5-inch midrange units, and 900 watts of power. Upgrading to the latest Uconnect infotainment system with navigation is available across all trims except the Touring (base) trim.

Additionally, the 2022 Chrysler 300 earned a four-star crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Chrysler offers a SafetyTec Plus Package that is available for all but the base trim and includes key safety features such as: available Automated Emergency Braking, available Adaptive Cruise Control, available Lane-Keeping Assist and more.
