The 2023 Jeep Gladiator is available in a total of ten trims, including Sport, Sport S, Willys, Overland, Altitude, Texas Trail, Mojave, Rubicon, and High Altitude. A 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine is the standard engine for the 2023 Jeep Gladiator, generating 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The Gladiator is celebrated for its ruggedness that’s part of its off-roading formula and trail-ready charm. Enthusiasts can enjoy varying off-road equipment such as skid plates, rock-crawling axle ratios, water fording capability, generous ground clearance and more. Engineered to be all-around capable, all Gladiator pickups regardless of trim offer the following standard features: 11.1 inches of ground clearance, a special high air intake system that’s water-sealed for ultimate protection against damage and corrosion, and water fording capability up to 30 inches. All Gladiator pickups feature some of the best 4×4 systems Jeep has to offer, regardless of trim. Off-road enthusiasts can count on the Command-Trac 4×4 system (standard 4×4 system on the Sport, Sport S, and Overland trims) with a 2.72:1 crawl ratio is smooth and quiet, but strong enough to conquer even the roughest terrain. As the off-road gem of the Gladiator lineup, the Rubicon trim comes standard with the Rock-Trac 4×4 system with a “4LO” ratio of 4:1, including Tru-Lok differentials, skid plates, and rear tow hooks.

What’s new for 2023?

Jeep is offering buyers the Jeep Gladiator Freedom Special Edition which not only features capability enhancements, it also features aesthetic upgrades including an Oscar Mike badge on the rear tailgate, body-color fender flares, winch-capable steel front and rear bumpers, an American flag decal along the sides of the vehicle, LED headlamps, fog lamps, steel rock rails, and black wheels. On the interior of the Gladiator Freedom Special Edition buyers can find leather-trimmed cloth upholstery and black accent stitching. Jeep is also offering a new Capability Package on the High Altitude trim which comes standard with a winch-capable steel front bumper, a front off-road camera, and steel rock rails. On the Willys trim buyers can now enjoy proximity keyless entry, a 7-inch instrument cluster, a garage door opener, and remote start. As of 2023, every Gladiator pickup features an American flag on the front fender, while the Mello-Yello-inspired High Velocity shade replaces the outgoing Snazzberry.

Exterior Features

Inspired by the Wrangler model, the 2023 Gladiator shares its various top configurations, doors, and windshield — which can be removed — for buyers in search of  the ultimate off-road experience. Standard exterior features include automatic headlamps (unavailable on the Sport S), fog lamps, incandescent tail lamps, headlamp off time delay, and cargo tie-down loops. Intended to be secure while protecting gear, the Gladiator’s bed is made of steel and includes cargo tie-downs and an available spray-in bedliner. As the most rugged trim, the Rubicon trim stands out thanks to its vented hood, high-clearance fender flares, rock rails beneath the cab and bed, and a steel off-road rear bumper.

Interior Features

On the inside, the 2023 Jeep Gladiator features bucket seats, a manual six-way adjustable driver seat, a 4-way adjustable passenger seat, cloth upholstery throughout with the Overland and Rubicon seats with exclusive stitching, a full-length floor console, illuminated cup holders, child seat upper tether anchorage in the rear, a leather-wrapped steering wheel (unavailable on the Sport), and a driver height-adjustable seat. Available upgrades include Black Stitched leather seats from Mopar and Black Perforated leather seats, a leather-wrapped shift knob, rear sliding window and rear window defroster. Along with its useful cargo bed, the 2023 Gladiator’s cabin features plenty of nifty storage spaces, including a compartment that’s hidden under the back seat.

All 2023 Jeep Gladiator pickups include a media hub, a remote USB port and steering wheel-mounted controls. Both the Sport and Sport S trims come with a standard 5-inch infotainment touchscreen display and feature the Uconnect 3 system, while the remaining trims offer the Uconnect infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen display as standard. Buyers who opt for the best trims the Gladiator has to offer have the option to upgrade to an optional 8.4-inch touchscreen display complete with navigation. An eight-speaker audio system is the standard, while every trim but the Sport trim has the availability to upgrade to an Alpine Premium Audio system complete with a wireless Bluetooth speaker.  Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto capabilities come standard on the high-tier trims and are optional on the Sport S. The entry-level Gladiator Sport trim does not offer either of these features.

Safety Features and Warranty

All 2023 Gladiator pickups include the following advanced safety features as standard: a ParkView backup camera, advanced multistage front airbags, hydraulic assist brake booster, anti-lock 4-wheel disc HD brakes, remote keyless entry (unavailable on the Sport), traction control, electronic stability control, electronic roll mitigation, hill start assist, electronic trailer sway control, and an occupant detection system. Optional safety features on the Gladiator include adaptive cruise control with forward collision warning (unavailable on the Sport trim) and a tip start feature. Blind-Spot and Rear-cross path detection features are exclusively optional on the Gladiator Rubicon and beyond, while Sport S trim buyers can opt for these features and an additional Advanced Brake Assist. 

All Jeep vehicles are covered by a 3-year or 36,000-mile basic warranty, a 5-year or 100,000-mile powertrain warranty, roadside assistance for five years or 100,000 miles, and rust-through coverage for five years or 100,000, whichever comes first.
