A Look Inside the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

October 27th, 2021 by

The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is back and better than ever after a nearly three-decade slumber. Designed and intended to be Jeep’s Trojan Horse into the full-size luxury segment, the Grand Wagoneer competes against the likes of the Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, and GMC Yukon Denali. Powered by a 6.4-liter HEMI V8, the Grand Wagoneer rides on a rugged ladder frame chassis with an independent suspension. Jeep’s Quadra-Drive II four-wheel-drive system, along with the Quadra-lift Air Suspension, make for excellent handling and a smooth ride.

Offering seating for seven or eight passengers, depending on configuration, the Grand Wagoneer has a commanding presence with a satisfying outward view. It’s available in four different trim levels: Series I, Series II, Series II, and Obsidian. The latter is a special appearance trim that comes with standard black exterior accents, a blacked-out trim, and inserts on the standard 22-inch wheels. Wood, aluminum, and even onyx glass take the Grand Wagoneer to new heights. Driver and front passenger seats come with 20-way power adjustability with massage, memory, and 4-way power headrests. Other standards include a heated steering wheel, adjustable pedals, and a memory steering column.

Jeep even added surprising delightful touches throughout the cabin, including an optional locking touchpad-controlled safe that lies underneath the armrest on Series I Grand Wagoneer vehicles. In high-tier trims, such as the Series II and Obsidian trims, buyers can opt for an available storage/cooler bin. This option is standard on the top-tier Series II trim of the Grand Wagoneer. Additionally, there’s an incomparable 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a total of up to six touchscreens in one cabin. These touchscreens include a 12-inch infotainment display screen, the passenger’s optional (and exclusive) Fire TV screen, and even a 10.25-inch control screen that handles climate and seat heating.

Speaking of the available Grand Wagoneer Fire TV option, the 10.25-inch touchscreen lies directly in front of the passenger seat and out of view of the driver. Passengers can watch videos or monitor the interior of the cabin thanks to a 360-degree overhead camera. A special directional filter over the screen is what prevents the driver from being able to see the screen itself. In the rear, Jeep also included a pair of touchscreens for passengers seated there.

The new Grand Wagoneer comes equipped with the company’s groundbreaking Uconnect 5 infotainment system. Jeep also added a 23-speaker McIntosh sound system that effortlessly brings forth premium audio via 23 speakers. Customers can enjoy up to 11 USB ports, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto capability and onboard Wi-Fi that supports up to eight devices at once and Bluetooth for two devices.
