Hollywood Chrysler Jeep 2023 Jeep Cherokee Plans

It’s no secret the Jeep Cherokee is overdue for a redesign. The current generation already has eight years in the bank and was initially released back in 2014. To conquer a segment the Cherokee used to dominate, Jeep will have to romance new buyers with features the Cherokee has never seen before. While the automotive segment goes crazy over SUVs, it would be preposterous to forget the SUV that started the craze. So, where does Jeep take the Cherokee from here? Here’s what the rumor mill claims Jeep has in store for its enthusiasts in the near future.

Perhaps the largest focus of the next-generation Jeep Cherokee will be on a plug-in hybrid powertrain, following in the footsteps of the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler models. None of the professionals are ruling out a Cherokee 4xe just yet. Jeep is not only loyal to its fanbase, but it’s also loyal to its nameplates and the brand is adamant that the model is due for a popular return. The only official detail we know so far is that the next-generation Cherokee will be “bigger and better than ever” if Jeep’s executives have their say. Some automotive experts took that statement to mean that the Cherokee could possibly accommodate more than five passengers going forward.

Compact SUVs remain atop the automotive food chain and Jeep isn’t going to let the opportunity to recapture the market just pass them by. Some of the Cherokee’s toughest competition includes the Toyota RAV4, Honda HR-V, and Ford Escape. Although the Jeep Cherokee has seen better sales in the past, a refresh is sure to bring it back front and center. Being a compact SUV in a crowded segment just isn’t enough these days, but Jeep is likely to mix its iconic capability with some of the most popular crossover features.

So, where does electrification come in? Well, Jeep has already gauged consumer interest in its 4xe models–including the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler– and drivers have reacted more than positively to the hybrid powertrain. Full-on electrification isn’t in the cards right now for the Cherokee, but a hybrid powertrain would certainly help the model ease into the transition.

2022 Jeep Cherokee

For 2022, Jeep slims down its trim options, but introduces an all-new top-tier X trim. Not only does the 2022 Cherokee X feature unique exterior graphics and special seat inserts, the Cherokee X also comes standard with a 1.0-inch suspension lift and heftier all-terrain tires.  Every 2022 Cherokee model regardless of trim comes standard with an 8.4-inch touchscreen and SiriusXM satellite radio, replacing the old standard 7.0-inch infotainment display. The Latitude Lux trim also offers buyers new standard features, including a 7.0-inch gauge-cluster display, a 115-volt power outlet, dual-zone automatic climate control, and more.
