Limited Edition 2017 Jeep Models
Jeep drivers tend to have two things in common, the urge to adventure and the need for a unique vehicle to experience the adventure. That is why many drivers “mod out” their Jeeps because they want to make them stand out. But Jeep knows that not everyone wants to alter their vehicle, so they consistently introduce limited edition models to keep the lineup fresh and exciting.
Well this year, the 76th year of the Jeep brand, Jeep has a variety of new trims and the lineup is more colorful, capable and custom-looking than ever before. Check out all of the new limited edition 2017 Jeep trims.
Additions to the Wrangler/Wrangler Unlimited Lineup
The Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited are the most well-known Jeep vehicles as their origins date back to the ‘40s. This year the Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited lineup includes nine limited-edition trims, however, the Freedom, Rubicon Hard Rock, 75th Special Edition and Willys Wrangler trims are limited edition trims that have been on the lineup for quite sometime. The trims that are new to the 2017 model year Wrangler/ Wrangler Unlimited lineups are the Smoky Mountain, Chief, Big Bear, Winter, and Rubicon Recon and each new trim is extremely capable with its own unique style.
The Wrangler/ Wrangler Unlimited Smoky Mountain encompasses the feel of the good ol’ Smokies with the capabilities needed to off-road through mountain trails. The Smoky Mountain edition is available in white or one of four “smoky” gray exterior paint options. The exterior is covered in high-gloss black accents and has a sculpted hood design. Inside the Smoky Mountain are black leather-trimmed seats and heated front seats.
The new Chief trim combines a retro Jeep feel with a beachy attitude. On the exterior is a power dome vented hood, white hard top, white decals, silver rims and silver accents on the grille. The Chief is available in three colors including the exclusive Chief clearcoat exterior paint. Take a seat inside and drivers will find comfortable leather-trimmed seats with diesel gray stitching and heated front seats.
The Big Bear is loaded with special features including a unique never-seen before-hood decal, which is a topographical map of the legendary John Bull Trail in California. The Big Bear is trail-ready with all-terrain KO2 tires and Jeep’s Command Trac 4×4 system. Black aluminum wheels, Sedodo seats, Jeeps power convenience group and connectivity group packages are also included with this trim.
The Rubicon Recon is made to kill the trails and look hot while doing it. The Recon has exterior features like a power dome vented hood, premium off-road rock rails with tread plates, winch capable steel bumpers, and a military inspired front Dana 44 axle. All of these exterior features add both capability and aggressive styling to the Rubicon. In addition off-roading features like red tow hooks and 33-inch BFGoodrich off-road tires come standard. Finally, Jeep adds final touches to the exterior with granite crystal painted wheels and black Jeep badging as well as a black grille.
Whether you want to hit the trail, rock crawl, or challenge yourself up a snowy mountain, the Winter edition is for you. The Winter edition was built with winter off-roading in mind which makes it a truly unique Jeep model. BF Goodrich KO2 off-road tires, off-road steel bumpers, premium off-road rock rails, 17-inch black wheels, and a black taillamp guard are all in place to add protection and capability to the Jeep off-road. Of course to match the style, the vehicle comes with a black grille and black fuel filler door as well. Inside the vehicle you will stay warm with leather-trimmed heated seats, and enjoy the style of black piano accents. A 6.5-inch touchscreen, Alpine nine-speaker audio system with a subwoofer, and all-weather floor mats can also be found standard inside this model as well.
One New Trim to Jeep Grand Cherokee Lineup
The Grand Cherokee is another popular Jeep vehicle and it is known for its off-road capability and luxurious style and feel. The Grand Cherokee is a full-size two-row SUV and this year Jeep added a new trim to help customers find the perfect balance of luxury and capability with the addition of the Grand Cherokee Altitude.
Grand Cherokee Altitude
The limited edition Altitude trim takes the luxurious look and feel of the Grand Cherokee and brings it to the next level. This model is both luxurious and dark/aggressive. It comes standard with exterior features like gloss black accents on the wheels, grille, and badges, 20-inch aluminum wheels, and quad halogen headlamps. Inside the vehicle is the UConnect 8.4 system with a 8.4-inch touchscreen, leather-trimmed seats with perforated suede inserts, a heated steering wheel and heated front seats, and a anodized gun metal finish.
Two New Trims to Jeep Cherokee Lineup
Next up, the Jeep Cherokee! As you would assume, the Cherokee is very similar to the Grand Cherokee when it comes to style, but it is a little smaller and more affordable. For the 2017 model year there are two new limited editions joining the lineup, the High Altitude and Sport Altitude.
Cherokee High Altitude
The Cherokee High Altitude limited edition is similar to the Grand Cherokee Altitude, but it has a few additional features. Standard exterior features include 18-inch gloss-black accents, black accents on the grille and logos, high-intensity discharge headlamps. Buyers also have the option of a dual-pane sunroof. Inside the High Altitude, are leather seats, a heated leather-trimmed steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic AC control. In addition, this vehicle is available with a power liftgate and a nine-speaker audio system as well.
Cherokee Sport Altitude
The Cherokee Sport Altitude is an adventurous version of the Cherokee High Altitude. The wheels, black accents, and headlamps are the same but tinted windows and roof rails have all been added. Interior features are the same as the Cherokee High Altitude, but there is also a UConnect 5.0 system, media system and cargo management system.
Two Special Edition Trims to Jeep Renegade Lineup
The Jeep Renegade is the newest Jeep model with its first year of production beginning in 2015. The Renegade is different than other Jeep models because it has a much more unique style, like taillights with an X, and curvier edges, than any other Jeep. However, the Renegade still has the famous seven-slot grille as well as the off-road capability consumers look for in a Jeep. This year two limited edition 4×4 Renegade trims join the lineup.
Renegade Desert Hawk
The Desert Hawk is a new version of the Renegade Trailhawk that has more of a “desert” feel. The Desert Hawk is available in a new Mojave Sand color and all Desert Hawk models have an exclusive camo hood decal. Other exterior features include exclusive Desert Hawk black badging, 17-inch black aluminum wheels, and the available My Sky removable roof panel. Inside the Desert Hawk are moroccan sun bezels that match the exterior color, leather trimmed seats with Desert Hawk badging, and the available UConnect 6.5 system.
The new Renegade Altitude model is similar to the other limited edition Altitude trims on the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee lineups. The Renegade Altitude is available with but My Sky removable panels, 18-inch wheels (black gloss of course), and cloth sedile seats with black stitching. This trim is also available with heated seats and the UConnect 6.5 system.
