2017 Jeep Wrangler Coming Soon

September 19th, 2015 by

For those who have been fully-committed Jeep enthusiasts for years and whose daily drive is a Wrangler all year long, for the weekend warrior who enjoys exploring and taking on the backcountry roads with Fido, and even for those considering buying their first Wrangler ~ ever, Jeep lovers will appreciate what the designers of this All-American icon have in store for the all-new 2017 Jeep Wrangler.

Crossover rumors are left at the side of the road

No, Jeep is not transforming it’s beloved Jeep Wrangler into an SUV crossover ~ despite any rumors hinting to the contrary. Although Jeep hasn’t confirmed whether the 2017 Jeep will have a steel or aluminum body, we do know that the front and rear solid axles aren’t changing, and it will keep its body-on-frame construction.

A Diesel Option

To gain more efficiency without compromising capability, the next-generation 2017 Jeep Wrangler is giving Jeep shoppers the powertrain option of a 3.0L VM Motori V-6 EcoDiesel paired to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. This diesel engine option, combined with a lighter-weight Wrangler, will enable Jeep owners to maintain plenty of rock-crawling torque ~ but with noticeably improved fuel economy (perhaps as much as 30 mpg on the freeways!)

Safety still remains in the forefront

What will never change for Jeep is their commitment to safety ~ an integral aspect of design that has garnered lots of awards for the iconic vehicle. Jeep’s all-side airbags provide superior protection by uniquely matching the airbag output to the severity of the impact. Jeep’s Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is a safety feature that detects when the driver is about to over- or under-steer; it then automatically regulates the throttle and applies the brakes until the Jeep is back in the center of the road (or dirt path). Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM) is a standard feature that will also be on the 2017 Jeep Wrangler; it senses if the vehicle is on the verge of a rollover. The ERM then applies braking force to reduce the likelihood of a rollover. With the 2017 Jeep Wrangler, owners will still enjoy the Sentry Key® Antitheft system. This awesome safety feature is an impressive (and powerful) engine immobilizer that makes it virtually impossible for anyone to drive off in the 2017 Jeep Wrangler if they don’t have a valid key.
