2018 Grand Cherokee Lineup, 25 Years in the Making
The Most Awarded SUV Ever, the Jeep Grand Cherokee, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Introduced in 1993, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is a popular full-size SUV that offers everything from off-road capabilities to luxury. The 2018 Grand Cherokee lineup consists of 11 different trims, one of which is a new trim introduced to celebrate the 25-year milestone, here’s a closer look at some of our favorite trims.
Grand Cherokee Sterling Edition
Jeep is celebrating the Grand Cherokee’s 25th anniversary with the new Grand Cherokee Sterling Edition. In addition to being fitted with a number of convenience features, the Grand Cherokee Sterling Edition is fitted with heritage-inspired features that aren’t available on other Grand Cherokee trims. The exterior of the Grand Cherokee Sterling Edition features 20-inch Heritage aluminum wheels, heated chrome exterior mirrors with turn signals, tow hooks, the new Sangria colors, and its available with a dual pane panoramic sunroof.
The interior of the Grand Cherokee Sterling Edition is nothing like the model looked like 25 years ago. The Grand Cherokee Sterling Edition has an 8.4-inch touchscreen, an advanced version of UConnect, and special Heritage perforated seats. Also, the Grand Cherokee Sterling Edition features Blind Spot monitoring with Cross-Path Detection.
Grand Cherokee Trailhawk
The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is a Trail Rated Grand Cherokee that’s fitted with special off-roading equipment that make the Jeep nearly unstoppable in any terrain. The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk comes standard with a 4×4 drivetrain as well as two 4x4off-road systems, Quadra-Drive II and Quadra-Trac II, which include an electronic slip differential as well as a two-speed transfer case that provides the right amount of torque when and where it is needed. The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk also has improved ground clearance, protective skid plates, two front tow hooks, a rear tow hook and on and off-road tires.
Grand Cherokee Summit
The Grand Cherokee Summit is makes the Grand Cherokee one of the most luxurious SUVs on the market. The Grand Cherokee Summit comes standard with everything from heated and ventilated seats to a large panoramic sunroof to a 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. The Grand Cherokee Summit is fitted with an 8.4-inch touchscreen display, and it comes standard with a complimentary five-year subscription to SiriusXM Travel Link and SiriusXM Traffic Service. The Grand Cherokee Summit is also available with a rear seat dual screen Blu-Ray and DVD player.
Grand Cherokee Performance Trims
The Grand Cherokee is available in two performance trims, the Grand Cherokee SRT and the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. The Grand Cherokee SRT was introduced for the 2012 model year and it is equipped with a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine that produces 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Built to dominate the track, the Grand Cherokee SRT has an all-wheel-drivetrain and several performance features. The Grand Cherokee SRT accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds and it has a top speed of 160 mph. Until the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk debuted for the 2018 model year, the Grand Cherokee SRT was the fastest two-row SUV on the market.
Jeep stepped up the performance Grand Cherokee lineup with the addition of the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, which is the most powerful and quickest SUV ever. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is equipped with a 6.2-liter HEMI V8 engine and it produces 707 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has an all-wheel drivetrain and exterior features that help it to achieve its impressive track times. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds, finish a quarter-mile in 11.6 seconds and it has a top speed of 180 mph.
