The 2019 Jeep Renegade is an outstanding vehicle in the subcompact SUV market. PERFORMANCE:

2019 Jeep Renegade:

Those who own a Jeep Renegade, have the engine choice between the new 1.3-Liter GES (Global Small Engine) Turbo engine that provides 177 horsepower and 200 lb-ft of torque in a SOHC 16-Valve I4. The other powertrain option is the 2.4-Liter engine that delivers 180 horsepower with 175 lb-ft of torque. Both drivers come with a 9-speed automatic transmission.    

2019 Hyundai Kona:

The Hyundai Kona comes with two main models: an electric and nonelectric model. The nonelectric has a 147-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine which is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. A turbocharged engine is also offered which produces 175 horsepower, and it is provided with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission; both have manual-shift modes.   

The turbocharged engine feels more robust and supplies quicker acceleration. The base engine and front-wheel drive, Kona gets 27 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. The turbo engine gets almost the same fuel economy, at 28 mpg in the city and 32 mpg in the road, while the all-wheel-drive reduces a few mpg from each estimate.  

The Kona Electric motor makes 201 horsepower, and it has a single-speed gear. It takes a level 2 charger and about 10 hours to recharge, and you can opt for a 50-kW or 100-kW Combined Charging System DC hardware which allows a recharge of up to 80 percent of the battery in about an hour.
