2020 Jeep Gladiator Earns Top Honors Everywhere it Goes

November 29th, 2019 by

Jeep shone brightly at the 10th Annual Hispanic Motor Press Awards during the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show (Nov. 10 – Dec 1). The all-new 2020 Jeep Gladiator took home the top honors in the Adventure 4×4 segment. Sister brand Ram also got in on the action, with the 2020 Ram 1500 model grabbing the top spot in the Pickup Truck category.

The Hispanic Motor Press Foundation is comprised of a panel of 20 automotive experts whose job is to identify the top 10 best new vehicles best suited for Hispanic families and their needs. Jurors identify individual models in each segment that reflect the best value. All vehicles are evaluated from every angle, including design, safety, comfort, handling, performance, fuel economy, functionality, environmental requirements, value, and most important of all: driver satisfaction.

Ricardo Rodriguez-Long, president and founder of the Hispanic Motor Press Foundation, said the following about the 2020 Gladiator: “The Jeep Gladiator is unlike anything in the market — perhaps the ultimate adventure vehicle. It’s built to handle the demands of an active lifestyle while maintaining both comfort and agility for everyday on-road driving. There is no comparison, a clear winner in the Adventure category.” Other industry publications seem to agree, given that the Gladiator also just earned a spot on Car and Driver’s 10 Best Cars & Truck list.

The all-new Gladiator earned its stripes off the beaten path and quickly rose to become the most off-road capable midsize truck ever according to Jeep. The midsize pickup builds on Jeep’s heritage, with its renowned rugged design and utility, paired with authentic Jeep open-air freedom and versatility. The Gladiator also boasts best-in-class towing and 4×4 payload figures. Three different powertrain combinations are available, while the truck also comes with a versatile cargo box and is intentionally designed to handle the demands of an active lifestyle. This is where Jeep’s best-known outdoorsy attributes shine best — on the 2020 Gladiator.

The 2020 Gladiator also includes plenty of technology features such as Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, hands-free Bluetooth connectivity. There’s also a host of advanced safety features, such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind-Spot Monitoring, Forward Collision Warning-Plus, and Rear Cross Path Detection that make the Gladiator an appealing choice. Additionally, every Gladiator pickup, regardless of trim, is Trail Rated with a badge indicating that the vehicle is designed to perform in challenging off-road courses. Jeep guides itself by the five key consumer-oriented performance categories: water fording, maneuverability, articulation, ground clearance, and most importantly, traction.

As the crown jewel of the Gladiator lineup, the Rubicon trim features signature red hooks, front and rear heavy-duty Dana 44 axles, a two-speed transfer case with a 4:1 low-range gear ratio, and a Rock-Trac 4×4 system. The Gladiator also offers buyers a segment-exclusive electronic sway bar disconnect, 33-inch Falken Wildpeak All-Terrain off-road tires, Tru-Lok electric front- and rear-axle lockers, and cab and bed rock rails.
