2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee
The current Grand Cherokee generation is on its way out after being a best-selling vehicle for over a decade. For the 2020 model year, Jeep added advanced safety features and a few other accents. Trim levels remain expansive, with over 12 trims to choose from and plenty of available packages to add additional features. All 2020 Grand Cherokee SUVs feature the brand’s latest Uconnect infotainment system, with Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capabilities, as well as standard Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection.

Avail. Engine Type
The 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee is available in a total of 12 trims and offers two drivetrains – 4×2 and 4×4. Trims available with either a 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrain (driver’s choice) are the following: Laredo E, Upland, Altitude, North Edition, Limited, Limited X, Overland, High Altitude, and Summit. Trailhawk, SRT, and Trackhawk trims are all powered with a 4×4 drivetrain only. Every 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicle, with the exception of the SRT and Trackhawk trims, are powered by the classic 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. Both the SRT and Trakchawk trims come standard with a massive 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine that generates 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque and a massive 6.2-liter Supercharged HEMi V8 with 707 horsepower, respectively. For those buyers looking for a little more oomph under the hood, but unwilling to invest in the top-tier trims, Jeep does offer a 5.7-liter HEMI engine as an available engine upgrade on all 4×4 drivetrains.
Jeep is renowned for its 4×4 systems, and the Grand Cherokee model is no exception when it comes to conquering paths unknown. Standard on the Laredo E and Altitude trims, there’s the Quadra-Trac I 4WD system that’s designed for all-weather capability and includes the Selec-Terrain System. High-tier trims such as the Grand Cherokee Limited, Limited X, Trailhawk, Overland, High Altitude, and Summit feature the same 4×4 system but are also all paired with a two-speed transfer case to detect and correct tire slippage. The Selec-Terrain Traction Control System included lets drivers opt between driving modes for driving in snow, sand, mud or rock. Additionally, there’s also the Quadra-Trac II System for even better off-road capability thanks to its low range. The Trailhawk is the only trim that has the Quadra-Trac II system as well as an additional electronic rear limited-slip differential for optimal off-road traction and capability, thus making the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk “Trail Rated Tough.” Quadra-Trac Active on Demand 4WD is the standard 4×4 system on the top-tier Grand Cherokee SRT and Trackhawk trims. It functions as a full-time 4×4 system that readily adapts no matter the driving conditions without any input from the driver being necessary.
2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee standard features include: heated outside mirrors, a tinted and acoustic windshield that reduces noise and glare, deep tint sunscreen glass that works to keep the cabin cool, black claddings, ParkSense Rear Park Assist with Stop, and automatic on/off headlights. The Altitude and Summit trims include all we mentioned plus some standard LED fog lamps, while the high-tier trims that follow from here on out include bi-xenon HID headlamps, platinum side roof rails, a power liftgate, tow hooks, rain-sensitive windshield wipers, rock rails, and even a roof rack. Select trims offer additional available touches such as a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, blacked-out hood decals, and “Trail Rated” badges when appropriate.
The 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee has ten different exterior colors to choose from: Olive Green, Diamond Black, Billet Silver, Bright White, Granite Crystal Metallic, Pearl White, Red Velvet, Hydro Blue, and Firecracker Red. Wheels sizes range from 17-20 inches while materials range from polished aluminum, black satin, forged polish, and many others.
2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee standard interior features include: dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, luxury floor mats, a 60/40 split-fold rear seat, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, a leather-wrapped shift knob, and a rearview day/night mirror. The entry-level Grand Cherokee Laredo E comes standard with cloth upholstery, but the remainder of the Grand Cherokee lineup has an array of supple leather upholstery to choose from. High-tier trim available and standard features include heated and ventilated front seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, active noise control, and a heated steering wheel.
The 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee features an 8.4-inch touchscreen display with the latest Uconnect 4 infotainment system. It includes Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto, as well as an integrated hands-free voice-command with Bluetooth connectivity. A six-speaker audio system is standard on the Laredo, Laredo E, Upland, and Altitude trims, while the other high-tier Grand Cherokee trims come standard with a nine-speaker sound system that includes a subwoofer. A 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system is standard on the Grand Cherokee Summit and is available as an upgrade on the Overland, High Altitude, SRT, and Trackhawk trims. Select trims can also upgrade their Uconnect infotainment system to include navigation. The navigation package comes with a complimentary one-year SiriusXM Satellite Radio subscription. Other available upgrades include a family-oriented rear-seat dual-screen Blu-ray/DVD player, a rear-seat video system, and a Blu-ray compatible dual screen video system.
