2021 Chrysler Voyager Highlights

September 24th, 2020 by

As the Dodge Grand Caravan was discontinued, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) — the parent company of both Chrysler and Dodge — opted to bring back the Voyager nameplate for the 2021 model year. Replacing the earlier entry-levels of the existing Chrysler Pacifica, the Voyager arrives as a more affordable alternative. So what can we expect from the 2021 Voyager? Well, not only is it touted as America’s most affordable minivan, it’s also got quite a long list of impressive features. Powered by the well-established Pentastar V6 engine with 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, the Voyager seats up to seven in its standard form and comes with the usual smartphone integration apps and voice command features.

One of the Voyager’s biggest selling points is its safety features, as the minivan earned a full five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Not only does the Voyager have all the commonplace safety features that buyers have come to expect over the years, it also has over seven airbags, Brake Assist, and daytime running lights. New features include: Full-Speed Forward Collision Alert and Pedestrian Detection with Automatic Emergency Braking. Chrysler also added a black lower grille and an Ocean Blue Metallic exterior paint option.

Buyers can also enjoy a power driver’s seat, a 3.5-inch driver info display, an optional overhead DVD player, and there’s also an available tri-zone manual climate control system as well. Also available are Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Parking sensors. The standard infotainment system is the Uconnect 4 system with a touchscreen and active noise cancellation.

In addition, the 2021 Voyager also offers rear- and side-entry conversions that make accessing the minivan much easier, while opening up more space in the vehicle’s cabin. This makes the Voyager the perfect minivan to keep wheelchairs and scooters in place without cramping up the cabin, while there’s even an enhanced ramp securing system that makes it easier to get mobility vehicles in and out. Chrysler is also offering an LXi trim that’s limited to fleets, complete with leatherette seats, a roof rack, second-row retractable sunshades, and remote start. The automaker hasn’t disclosed pricing just yet, but it’s sure to undercut its rivals.
