2022 Chrysler 300: What’s New?

December 13th, 2021 by

Some things get better with age and the Chrysler 300 is no exception. Although the four-door sedan segment isn’t what it used to be as SUVs and crossovers encroached on the entire automotive sphere, the Chrysler 300 continues to occupy a rare place. A standard V6 powertrain coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission is what buyers can expect from the 2022 Chrysler 300, but the 300S trim also adds a V8 option, giving the sedan a sportier appeal. Inside the Chrysler 300 consumers enjoy a comfortable and luxurious cabin that doesn’t leave them wanting.

Soldiering on for another model year without any major design changes, the Chrysler 300 does come standard with a new N96 cabin filter and the added Comfort Group Package option on the Touring L and 300S trims. Additionally, Chrysler also added a new security alarm for the 2022 model year. Experts recommend the Touring L trim as it seamlessly blends comfort and convenience. Buyers also have the option of choosing between rear- or all-wheel drive. The Comfort Group Package is also highly recommended because it adds a certain level of plushness to the luxurious sedan.

Even though SUVs and crossovers are poised to dominate the playing field, the Chrysler 300 stands out among its competitors due to its unusual availability of rear-wheel drive and V8 options. Speaking of V8 options, the 300S trim adds a stiffer suspension and 20-inch wheels as well, giving the sedan a bit of an edge. Automotive experts do recommend the Touring or Touring L trims to those in the market for a luxurious sedan that’s comfortable as the 300S makes for a sportier and more rugged ride.

Cloth upholstery is standard on the introductory Touring trim, while the fancier Touring L and 300S trims add many more features. Buyers can expect power-adjustable heated front seats, adjustable lumbar support, illuminated front and rear cupholders, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Optional upgrades (on all but the entry-level trim) include heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, and a power-adjustable steering wheel. Chrysler covered the dashboard with soft-touch rubberized plastic that has a lather-grain pattern.

Chrysler’s infotainment system is the highly lauded Uconnect 5, often recognized for its ease of use and intuitive menu. The snappy performance alone puts other infotainment systems to shame. The 2022 Chrysler 300 comes standard with an 8.4-inch touchscreen display that features Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto capabilities. Additionally, the automaker also offers one complimentary year of SiriusXM Satellite radio, while in-dash navigation is optional. Chrysler bundled its safety tech under its SafetyTec Plus package that’s available on all but the entry-level trim. Key safety features on the Chrysler 300 include the available automated emergency braking, available lane-keep assist, and available adaptive cruise control.
