The 2023 Jeep Cherokee lineup offers buyers two different engine options–a 180-horsepower 2.4-liter inline-four and a 270-horsepower 2.0-liter that’s much more off-road oriented thanks to its 295 lb-ft of torque. As expected, the 2023 Jeep Cherokee is a solid daily driver that’s ready to take on any rough and rugged terrain. Buyers can find a firm suspension that absorbs impact without compromising the overall ride quality. Front-wheel drive is standard as of 2023, although other Trail Rated capabilities are also available depending on trims and overall configuration, especially when Convenience Group Packages or other similar ones are added to the mix.

What’s New for 2023?

Jeep is making serious changes to its 2023 Cherokee lineup as the model’s current generation finds itself on the way out. The automaker hasn’t disclosed if the model will be updated to meet an electric future, or if it’s facing discontinuation altogether. For 2023, Jeep offers its Cherokee model in just two trims–Altitude Lux and the trail-ready Trailhawk trim. Although front-wheel drive was previously standard, as of 2023 all Cherokee vehicles feature all-wheel drive (reflected in the model’s starting price). Jeep also replaced the old Pentastar V6 engine as the standard, giving the Cherokee Trailhawk a 270-horsepower 2.7-liter inline-four engine as a powerplant instead. The Altitude Lux trim of the 2023 Cherokee comes standard with leather seats, remote start, and a heated steering wheel.

Exterior Features

All 2023 Jeep Cherokee vehicles, regardless of trim, tend to more or less look the same on the exterior. Tow hooks and other off-road-oriented accents are the only variations when it comes to external design. LED daytime running headlamps, high beams, fog lamps, heated exterior mirrors, solar control glass and automatic on/off headlamps are standard features.The impressive CommandView dual-pane panoramic sunroof is available on all trims. Convenience Packages is where the 2023 Jeep Cherokee really shines thanks to a myriad of additional features buyers can choose from.

Interior Features

On the inside, the 2023 Jeep Cherokee is supportive and offers a seamless user experience thanks to easy-to-use controls. Given that the Cherokee is larger than many of its direct competitors, it’s safe to say the inside is also more spacious. Not only is the cabin practical and comfortable, it also features an innovative dashboard that feels larger and more expensive than it is. The Jeep Cherokee  borrows from Jeep luxury found on other models and includes 19-inch Crystal Granite wheels, leather upholstery with contrast stitching, a larger 8.4-inch touchscreen display, a panoramic sunroof, and power-adjustable front seats. Other high-tier trims, such as the Trailhawk, feature similar accents and perks.

Entertainment

Universally lauded as one of the best in its class, the 2023 Jeep Cherokee comes standard with the latest Uconnect 5 infotainment system. Every Cherokee vehicle offers two USB ports for use by the rear-seat passengers. Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto capabilities are standard on every Cherokee vehicle and a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot is available, as are Amazon Alexa services. Audiophiles can enjoy an available Alpine Premium Audio System with a 506-watt amplifier, nine speakers, and an 8-inch subwoofer.

Safety Features and Warranty

Jeep offers buyers a slew of standard advanced safety features in the name of driver-assistance, including Lane-departure Warning with Lane-keeping Assist, Blind-Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Forward-collision Warning and Automated Emergency Braking. All Jeep vehicles are covered by a 3-year or 36,000-mile basic warranty, a 5-year or 100,000-mile powertrain warranty, roadside assistance for five years or 100,000 miles, and rust-through coverage for five years or 100,000, whichever comes first. Complimentary maintenance is covered by Jeep for the first three years.
