2023 Jeep Compass
After a hefty redesign in 2022, it was unlikely that Jeep would make too many changes to the 2023 Jeep Compass. The much-needed upgrade in 2022 revamped the model inside and out, and Jeep is back for 2023 with an all-new powertrain and some additional standard features like all-wheel drive.

Engine Type
Every 2023 Jeep Compass is powered by a standard 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine that generates 200 horsepower and up to 221 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed transmission, as well as all-new standard all-wheel drive help round out the powertrain on the 2023 Jeep Compass. Buyers who are serious about off-roading and willing to splurge can get all they need from the Jeep Compass Trailhawk trim which now features a low “crawler” gear ratio, as well as a Rock mode, for 2023. Agile and responsive, the 2023 Jeep Compass offers buyers nicely weighted steering. Of course, the biggest perk of the 2023 Jeep Compass is the all-wheel drive, which helps the SUV hold its own around obstacles and more challenging rough and rugged terrain as it remains well-controlled and solidly on the ground.
What’s New For 2023?
The biggest (and best) change on the 2023 Jeep Compass is the addition of its all-new powertrain, including the introduction of the 200-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine. The addition of the new engine is a welcome change from the previous powertrain which was powered by a 2.4-liter engine capable of generating between 177 and 180 horsepower. All-wheel drive as the standard is also new for 2023. Experts recommend the Sport trim as it comes with the all-wheel drive, as well as standard advanced safety features such as Blind-Spot Monitoring, Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, and tire pressure monitoring.

Exterior Features
Premium craftsmanship and enhanced exterior design join forces on the 2023 Jeep Compass, thanks in large part to the restyling of numerous signature components. The changes to the 2023 Jeep Compass’ design give the model a new distinguished look that combines on-road sophistication and off-road grit. Buyers can enjoy a slew of advanced LED lighting technology for improved visibility while on the road. Front LED reflectors are standard, regardless of trim, while premium LED projector headlights and taillights are available on the Latitude LUX, Limited, and Trailhawk trims. LED fog lamps are available on the Latitude trim and above. The High Altitude Edition trim stands out with its body-color painted front and rear fascias and is accented with Neutral Grey accents, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, painted side flares, and 19-inch painted Granite Crystal aluminum wheels.
Interior Features
On the inside, the 2023 Jeep Compass is comfortable, functional, and offers more than enough space for four adult passengers. In this diverse class of crossover SUVs, the Jeep Compass stands out for its high seat bottoms that provide passenger support even on long rides. The 2022 Jeep Compass offers the following standard features: a front-passenger fold-forward seat, a rear 60/40 folding seat, push-button start, a rear cargo underfloor tray, a cargo compartment carpet, eight cargo tie-down loops, and a six-way seat adjustment on the driver and passenger seats (power eight-way seat adjustment on the high-tier Compass Limited). The high-tier Limited trim offers exclusive leather perforated upholstery complete with leather trim bucket seats, while premium cloth or vinyl upholstery is standard on the rest of the lineup. A heated leather-wrapped steering wheel and heated front seats are also available on the Compass Limited trim, while the Trailhawk trim features exclusive red interior stitching accents.
