2024 Chrysler Pacifica Highlights

January 12th, 2024 by

Offering both front- and all-wheel drive options, the Pacifica surpasses its competitors like the Kia Carnival, Honda Odyssey, and Toyota Sienna with a superior range of powertrain choices. Its standard configuration features a 287-hp V-6 paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, while the Pacifica Hybrid model boasts a 260-hp plug-in hybrid powertrain, showcasing an impressive 540 miles of range in recent highway fuel-economy tests. With sliding rear passenger doors, the Pacifica excels in swiftly facilitating entry and exit from the second and third rows, a capability SUVs lack. Regardless of the playful nicknames it may acquire, the Pacifica stands out as an exceptionally versatile minivan.

2024 Model Year Changes

The 2024 Chrysler Pacifica undergoes minimal changes. The Pacifica Pinnacle now offers a fresh interior color option named Sepia, while other trims introduce Red Hot and Baltic Gray as new paint selections. The plug-in hybrid Pacifica experiences a reshuffling of its trim levels, resulting in just two options: Hybrid Select and Hybrid Pinnacle. An innovative Emergency Vehicle Alert System has been incorporated into the Pacifica’s Uconnect infotainment system, capable of detecting approaching emergency vehicles and prompting the driver to yield.

Engine & Performance

The gas-only version of the Pacifica is equipped with a 287-hp 3.6-liter V-6 and a nine-speed automatic transmission. On the other hand, the Pacifica Hybrid generates a total of 260 horsepower from its 3.6-liter V-6 and two electric motors, supported by a 16.0-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It’s worth noting that the Pacifica Hybrid is exclusively available in front-wheel drive, as all-wheel drive is not an option for this variant.

Interior, Cargo & More

The Pacifica is characterized by its spacious and open interior, featuring numerous storage options like cubbies, cupholders, slide-out bins, and connectivity features that cater to the preferences of minivan enthusiasts. While the fit, finish, and materials are generally satisfactory, a few lower-quality plastic components are present in the cabin. The more upscale Limited and Pinnacle models stand out with taller center consoles seamlessly integrated into the dashboard, imparting an SUV-like ambiance for drivers.

The luxurious Pinnacle trim boasts quilted-leather upholstery and even provides matching lumbar pillows for the second-row captain’s chairs—a distinctive feature reminiscent of the ultra-luxurious Mercedes-Maybach S-class. Although the standard Stow ‘n Go seats in the Pacifica offer less padding compared to rivals, this compromise is attributed to their compact design necessary for folding into the van’s floor. In the Pacifica Hybrid, where the underfloor-storage space is occupied by the battery pack, Chrysler engineers have compensated by adding extra cushioning to the standard captain’s chairs. Despite these considerations, the Pacifica impresses when it comes to cargo hauling.
