All You Need to Know About the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid and Applicable Tax Credits

Due to changes in regulations in the U.S. Treasury, courtesy of the Inflation Reduction Act, the number of EVs that qualify for full or partial tax credits is changing. That said, the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid remains on the list and is eligible for the full $7,500 EV tax credit. The newly-imposed rules for eligibility require that a vehicle has a battery capacity of 7 kWh at a minimum, with a gross weight rating below 14,000 pounds, and that it be made by a qualified manufacturer. Fuel cell vehicles are the exception here as they don’t need to be made by a qualified manufacturer.
New rules also deem it necessary that vehicles meet battery and mineral sourcing requirements to earn a full tax credit. Vehicles that do not meet this criteria are only eligible for a partial $3,750 tax credit. Vehicles that meet neither of these components, or that do not meet gross weight and kWh requirements, will not qualify at all. Additionally, a vehicle’s MSRP also plays a role here, as the IRS capped the determining eligibility at $80,000 for pickups, vans, and SUVs, and at $55,000 for any other vehicle style.
2023 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid
Gone are the days of big and chunky minivans–the Pacifica Hybrid is sleek and sporty and rather easy to whip around. Buyers looking for a practical option can enjoy tons of passenger and cargo room courtesy of the Chrysler Pacifica. Additionally, buyers can also take advantage of advanced safety features and plentiful storage solutions. Powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine, a lithium-ion battery pack, and two electric motors, the Pacifica Hybrid can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 7.3 seconds to the tune of 260 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque.
Given that the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is a plug-in hybrid vehicle, it offers buyers up to 30 miles of all-electric range on a single charge, making it an optimal vehicle for daily commuters. The Pacifica Hybrid can be charged with a regular household outlet overnight. With an EPA-estimated 86 MPGe rating and the ability to travel up to 520 miles on a single tank of gas, the Pacifica Hybrid is in it for the long haul. Additionally, owners can rely on the regenerative brakes to provide the minivan with even more energy.
Riding and handling on the Pacifica Hybrid are extremely smooth as the minivan absorbs the pavement with ease. The interior of the cabin is also peacefully quiet as the anti-noise technology to reduce wind and road noise gets to work. Seats provide passengers plenty of padding, even allowing them to stretch out and recline while on the road. Heated and ventilated seats make sure the temperature is always optimal, as does the smart and adaptive climate control system. With up to 32.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and up to 140.5 cubic feet total, the Pacifica Hybrid really outdoes itself. There’s even an in-floor trunk space in the rear, giving buyers even more unexpected room to organize and carry their belongings. Additionally, the third row of seats folds completely flat and disappears into the level cargo floor, making the Pacifica Hybrid even more practical.
