The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is the newest minivan on the market. Not only was the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid named the Best Car To Buy by Green Car Reports for 2018 but the Pacifica Hybrid was also rated 10 out of 10 by The Car Connection for its energy efficiency and fuel economy. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid combines remarkable electric range with an fuel efficient engine to produce an incredible plug-in hybrid powertrain.

The Pacifica Hybrid comes with a portable Level 1 120-volt charging cord as standard, kept in a bag that can be housed in a cargo-bay wall bin below the left-rear window. With the Level 1 120-volt charger, the Pacifica Hybrid can be fully recharged in 14 hours. For faster charging, there is also an available 240-volt charger, which is commonly found at charging stations and it can also be installed at home. It takes about two hours to recharge the 16-kwh battery using a 240-volt Level 2 charger.

The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid has a 3.6-liter V6 engine as well as dual electric motors and a 16 kWh lithium-ion battery. The 16-kwh battery pack is located in the floor of the second-row seats and it provides a travel distance of 33 miles of all-electric mode, which is plenty of distance for errands around town and even most commutes.

Now, for those who are new to the Hybrid world, finding locations that offer charging stations can be a tricky thing. Luckily, there are plenty of apps for finding free public chargers and help drivers connect with other Electric Vehicle (EV) drivers. Additionally, some of these apps can also assist those soon-to-be EV owners in choosing the best vehicle to fit their lifestyle.

ChargePoint

Considered one of the largest electric vehicle charging network, ChargePoint is currently serving 35,192 total charging spots, including workplaces, homes, retailers and parking garages. In addition, ChargePoint allows users to easily locate open stations as well as prices, and type of chargers. Furthermore, the app will show busy charging times that feature waitlists so drivers can get in line at ChargePoint stations when all ports are full.

PlugShare

The PlugShare app locates charging stations in both the US and internationally. Operating much like Facebook, the PlugShare app is a social network of electric vehicle owners that share helpful advice and photos. Through it’s interactive map, users have the ability to see chargers that are shared by PlugShare members in residential areas by searching the type of station – public, high power or residential. Combining coverage in the US and Canada, there are over 65,700 charging stations. Also included in the app, users can also share charging and station tips.

Open Charge Map

Similar to PlugShare, Open Charge Map is a global database of EV charging stations throughout the entire world. Including 97,168 charging stations across 51,723 locations, the Open Charge Map application offers detailed information about each charging station which often includes photos.

ChargeHub

Besides assisting users in finding a charging station, ChargeHub also gives EV drivers the ability to communicate with other users through messaging, which can be especially helpful in tough situations – like helping unplug another driver’s vehicle. ChargeHub users can share photos, leave comments and tips about particular charging stations. Lastly, while using the app’s map, users can filter by the type of charging stations, and green or red icons that show if the station is currently being used.
