Chrysler and Autism Society Celebrate One Year of Sensory-Friendly Drives

Marking the one-year anniversary of their long-term partnership, the Chrysler brand and the Autism Society of America are revving their engines for World Autism Acceptance Day on April 2nd. This collaboration focuses on supporting the driving needs of individuals within the Autism community.
The partnership, announced in April 2023 during Autism Acceptance Month, brings together the Chrysler brand with the Autism Society of America, the oldest and largest grassroots Autism organization in the country. This collaboration aims to make travel more comfortable for individuals with Autism and their loved ones by focusing on innovative solutions and supportive resources.
Putting their collaboration into action, Chrysler recently delivered three 2024 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles to the Autism Society’s Road to Acceptance project. This project, featuring early spring road stops in cities across the U.S., aims to showcase and share the unique experiences within the Autism community. The Chrysler Pacifica models will be instrumental in raising awareness and fostering understanding.
Building on this initiative, Chrysler further solidified their commitment by introducing the Calm Cabin package in April 2023. This innovative add-on transforms any Chrysler Pacifica into a sensory-supported mobile experience, easing the challenges of on-road travel for individuals with Autism and their families.
“The Chrysler brand is proud to continue our long-term partnership with the Autism Society of America as we work together to support and enhance the mobility needs of those in the Autism community,” said Chris Feuell, Chrysler brand CEO – Stellantis. “The Chrysler Pacifica with the Calm Cabin package make life on the road more comfortable, safer and a little easier, and we’re excited to collaborate with the Autism Society moving forward to find more ways to make the driving experience even more harmonious.”
To further raise awareness and support for the Autism community, Chrysler staged Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid ride-and-drive experiential events throughout the U.S. in 2023. For each participant, the brand generously contributed $50 to the Autism Society, resulting in a significant overall donation of $100,000.
Beyond direct support, the Chrysler Pacifica itself offers features specifically designed to make travel easier for families with Autism. The Uconnect 5 and Uconnect Theater system integrates seamlessly with Amazon Fire TV, providing access to over 400 early development apps spanning education, games, music, and streaming entertainment – keeping passengers of all ages engaged and comfortable on the road.
Building on its commitment to sensory-friendly travel, Chrysler continues to offer the innovative Calm Cabin package. Designed to promote a sense of calm, safety, and comfort for the Autism community while on the go, this package provides a range of features that cater to various sensory needs.
Included in the Calm Cabin package are:
- A seat-back organizer with adjustable straps and nine front pockets, featuring a clear pocket perfect for holding a tablet computer.
- A rechargeable, cordless Bluetooth meditative light and sound therapy machine that fits conveniently in the organizer’s center pocket. This machine offers five LED color modes, four light therapy modes, a breathing coach, and 15 sound therapy modes.
- A comforting seat belt sleeve with a soft-touch velvet feel for added comfort, a soft-touch travel pillow, and a seven-layer, 12-pound weighted sensory blanket.
