Chrysler Debuts 2021 Pacifica Model at the 2020 Chicago Auto Show
Chrysler is taking the 2020 Chicago Auto Show by storm, introducing the brand’s new-for-2021 Chrysler Pacifica model. The automaker sets a new class standard with the addition of available all-wheel-drive (AWD) capability along with the class-exclusive Stow ‘n Go seating system and more standard safety features than any other vehicles in the industry. The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica also boasts a refreshed exterior and interior design as well.
“Through 37 years and more than 15 million minivans sold, Chrysler has defined the minivan segment, and we plan to continue redefining it with the new 2021 Chrysler Pacifica. Not only does this new Pacifica look more capable, but it is also more capable. It delivers more standard safety features than any vehicles in the industry, offers class-leading AWD capability paired with Stow ‘n Go, a new customizable Uconnect 5 system that is five times faster, and you can even take Alexa along for the ride and see into rear-facing child seats with the new FamCAM. We also have the new top-of-the-line Pinnacle model, and Pacifica is still the only hybrid in the segment. Whatever the challenge, Pacifica offers solutions,” said Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars — Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA — North America.
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica introduces the most advanced AWD system in its segment and is the only vehicle that offers AWD capabilities along with the brand’s Stow ‘n Go seating. Not only is the AWD system seamless, it’s also fully automatic and capable of transferring all available torque to the rear wheels, or any wheel that has more available traction. Additionally, the Pacifica’s AWD system has the ability to sense and stop the driveshaft from spinning when AWD is not necessary, thus improving the vehicle’s efficiency and overall emissions.
Another promising fact about the 2021 Pacifica is that the model will offer 97 standard safety features — the largest amount of safety features in the industry. Blind-Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Path detection, Forward Collision Warning with Full Stop, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Park Assist, new LED lights and Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking all come standard on the 2021 Pacifica. In total, the Pacifica offers buyers more than 116 standard and available safety and security features.
On the inside, the model is also experiencing plenty of changes with a deeply sculpted cabin with touches of modern utility-vehicle-inspired design cues. Chrysler is also introducing a top-of-the-line Pacifica Pinnacle trim that sets a new standard in the minivan segment with its sophisticated and luxurious interior that includes a newly-integrated Ultra Console. The Pacifica Pinnacle also features quilted Nappa Caramel leather seats complete with matching lumbar comfort pillows. Chrysler is also including the brand’s all-new Uconnect 5 infotainment system, paired with the largest-in-class 10.1-inch touchscreen display.
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica will be assembled at the Windsor Assembly Plant in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, with orders opening in the third quarter of 2020. Availability at dealers is programmed to begin during the fourth quarter of 2020. Chrysler is also offering all-wheel-drive on the 2020 Pacifica Launch Edition, slated to arrive in dealers late in the second quarter of 2020.
