Chrysler Introduces a New Chrome Appearance Package for the Chrysler 300
While some experts still believe that the future of the Chrysler 300 remains uncertain after the current model year (2020), it’s safe to say that the model is still alive and on sale. In fact, Chrysler just announced that there’s a new available appearance package for the sedan, already available to order. The Chrome Appearance Package offers buyers a few nice touches to the exterior of the vehicle, starting with the mid-level Touring-L trim. Some of the perks that come with the package include: a distinctive chrome radiator grille, chrome surround trim, additional “300” badges, chrome side mirror caps, and a chrome Chrysler wing badge. Additionally, the Chrysler 300 Chrome Appearance Package also adds a set of 20-inch chrome aluminum wheels.
According to sources from Mopar Insiders, the new appearance package will replace the existing 20-inch wheel upgrade currently available on the 300 Touring-L in a rear-wheel-drive configuration. All-wheel-drive Chrysler 300 vehicles will not be eligible for the Chrome Appearance Package. The new Chrome Appearance Package will set buyers back $995 (MSRP). It was only a year ago when Chrysler announced a limited-time Appearance Package available on the top-tier 300C trim. This package offered fog lights, a lower front fascia, and side sills borrowed from the SRT trim. Chrysler also offered a similar aesthetics upgrade on the Chrysler 300 S as the Sport Appearance Package.
Other changes on the 2020 Chrysler 300 model include the addition of three new exterior colors — Canyon Sunset, Amethyst, and Frostbite. Some of the most popular features include “segment-exclusive features and advanced technology at the driver’s fingertips.” The Uconnect 4 infotainment system is arguably one of the best features on the Chrysler 300 with its 8.4-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto capabilities, as well as handsfree Bluetooth connectivity, USB ports and much more.
Another new standard feature on the 2020 Chrysler 300? An eight-speed TorqueFlite transmission that’s available on the entry-level Touring trim and onward. Other trims in the Chrysler 300 lineup include the Touring L, 300S, and the Limited trim. Prospective buyers can choose an available all-wheel-drive powertrain with front-axle disconnect and a V8 engine that’s available for upgrade. The V8 engine is not the usual HEMI engine that’s found under the hood of many other Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) vehicles, but the one found under the hood of the Chrysler 300 cranks out 363 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque.
