Chrysler Pacifica Earns IIHS Top Safety Pick Designation
The 2023 Chrysler Pacifica has secured the prestigious TOP SAFETY PICK designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for the year 2023.
The Pacifica achieved the highest possible rating, “Good,” in a series of IIHS tests designed to simulate three of the most common types of real-world crashes, including:
- Driver-side small overlap frontal impact
- Passenger-side small overlap frontal impact
- Moderate overlap frontal impact
The Pacifica’s sturdy body structure, incorporating various steel grades such as advanced high-strength and ultra-high strength, played a significant role in achieving these outcomes.

Included among the standard safety features in the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica is Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), a crucial technology for earning an IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK rating. In 2020, the IIHS revised its ratings system, placing increased importance on AEB and headlight function. The 2023 Pacifica incorporates LED headlamps as standard, complemented by daytime running lamps, fog lamps, and taillamps utilizing advanced LED technology. The LED technology not only provides a well-balanced beam of light but also minimizes glare for oncoming traffic, contributing to a safer driving experience.
