Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has yet another cause for celebration as the Chrysler Pacifica has been awarded the 2019 Best Buy distinction from the editors at Consumer Guide Automotive. For the third year in a row, it’s the Chrysler Pacifica that earns both the Family Vehicle and Minivan Best Buy Awards, having won each award since its introduction to the automotive market. Editors over at Consumer Guide Automotive are responsible for analyzing, comparing, and evaluating numerous vehicles by subjecting all major models available in the U.S. to extensive tests. According to the editors in charge, a vehicle doesn’t just earn this honor only on objective ratings alone – Best Buy vehicles must also distinguish themselves as having a good value when compared to other vehicles in the same class.

Why the Pacifica is a Best Buy Award Recipient?

The award is well-earned when we take into consideration that the Pacifica offers class-leading horsepower and fuel economy paired with a roster of comfort and convenience features that just aren’t available on other family vehicles. Additionally, excellent road manners and ride quality, all delivered in a stylish package – make the Pacifica a head turner. Initially introduced in the 2017 model year as a replacement of the then-outgoing Town & Country minivan, the Pacifica offers seating for seven or eight (depending on the seating configuration chosen) and is available in six different trims: L, LX, Touring Plus, Touring L Plus, and Limited. Under the hood a classic 287-horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission powers the Pacifica. As for fuel efficiency, the Chrysler Pacifica offers a modest 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.

Chrysler’s innovative (not to mention exclusive) Stow ‘n Go second-row seats offer an “Easy Tilt” feature that makes the seats tilt forward and allow for easy access to the third row – yes, even when a car seat is buckled in. A Stow ‘n Go Assist feature automatically moves the seat forward with the touch of a single button in order to flip up the panels that cover the floor-mounted well that the seats collapse into. When the seats are in use those very same wells work as savvy storage bins. Chrysler even offers removable plastic bins that fit into the wells, letting parents store toys and equipment or even convert those same bins into an ice chest or picnic cooler.

The Stow ‘n Go wells aren’t the only storage system available in the Pacifica – plenty of small-item storage bins, pockets, and cubbies are spread throughout the vehicle. Big-item storage isn’t a problem either as the Pacifica offers 140.5 cubic feet of cargo with all the second- and third-row seating stowed. There are even molded-in bag hooks on the third-row seat backs help keep the trunk organized and thoughtful umbrella-holder “troughs” on the outboard side pockets of the front seats. Besides its obvious utilitarianism, the Pacifica is also a modern and stylish machine that offers the best family entertainment system in its class. A Uconnect Theater with dual 10.1-inch HD touch screens complete with a Blu-ray player, dual HDMI inputs, wireless headphones, wireless streaming capability, Bluetooth remotes, and available games and apps. Its Uconnect infotainment system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen display offers owners Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, with navigation available as an optional upgrade.

All in all the Pacifica bests its competition when it comes to power, fuel economy, ride quality, overall comfort, and the long list of available convenience features.
