2021: Year of the Wrangler
2021 has been a stellar year for Jeep, and especially for the Jeep Wrangler model. The year kicked off with the Wrangler 4xe, the first electrified Jeep model in North America, and followed up with the first V8-powered Wrangler Rubicon 392 in almost four decades.
With its 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, the 2021 Wrangler 4xe delivers 21 miles of all-electric range and features a 49 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) — all while maintaining the heritage features that make the Wrangler legendary. Electrification only enhances the model’s off-road capabilities, while its water fording prowess remains intact with up to 30 inches of capacity. In the second quarter of 2021, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe was reported to be the No. 1 best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle in all of America. Within its first year of eligibility, the Wrangler 4xe earned a Wards 10 Best Engines and Propulsions Systems award.
Jeepers looking for legendary and authentic performance can count on the Wrangler Rubicon 392 as the quickest and most powerful Wrangler yet. Powered by a 6.4-liter supercharged V8 engine and rated at 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft, the Wrangler Rubicon 392 also comes standard with a Selec-Trac full-time active transfer case and has the ability to go from 0-60 mph in only 4.5 seconds.
