Introducing the 2020 Wrangler Freedom Edition
Jeep is back and better than ever with its Wrangler Freedom edition that’s arrived just in time for Veteran’s Day. Manufactured as a tribute to U.S. Military members, the 2020 Jeep Wrangler Freedom edition is military-themed both on the inside and on the exterior thanks to its poignant design cues. Jeep committed to donating $250 per every Wrangler Freedom edition sold to the United Service Organizations (USO).
“We are thrilled to bring the Wrangler Freedom model back to the Jeep lineup as a tribute to active and retired members of the U.S. military. The Jeep brand has a long military history and the new Wrangler Freedom model is a small, but important way we can honor those who have and continue to serve their country,” said Jim Morrison, Head of Jeep Brand — North America.
Just like the recently-introduced “Three O Five” editions, the Wrangler Freedom is also based on the Sport S trim with special and unique interior and exterior accents. On the outside there’s an American flag right above the Jeep brand logo, there’s a new “Oscar Mike” badge — a tip of the hat to an old military phrase that means “On the Move,” an “Oscar Mike” military star decal on the hood, Satin Carbon-painted 17-inch aluminum wheels, all-terrain tires, and a premium black Sunrider soft-top. On the interior, this Jeep Wrangler Freedom edition features McKinley black cloth seats, black leather bolsters, with Light Tungsten stitching throughout the cabin. The phrase “Oscar Mike” is embossed on the seat backs, with other stitching accents on the steering wheel, front armrest, doors, and seats.
The 2020 Wrangler Freedom edition comes in Firecracker Red, Bright White, and Ocean Blue. After the first production run is through, Jeep will be offering the 2020 Wrangler Freedom in Black, Granite Crystal, Punk’n, Hellayella, Sting Gray, Billet, and the ever-popular Bikini shade. The two-door 2020 Wrangler Freedom has an MSRP of $34,190 (plus destination fee), while the four-door Wrangler Freedom starts at $37,690 (plus destination fee).
Recognized throughout the world thanks to its iconic branding and capability, Jeep was born in the heat of battle as the U.S. Army solicited bids for a “light reconnaissance vehicle” prior to joining World War II. Only three companies responded to the bid — Ford, Bantam, and Willys — but with their cooperation, what would become synonymous with Jeep was born. There’s no better example of necessity being the mother of invention than how Jeep was born — it’s “Go Anywhere. Do Anything.” attitude forever ties the brand to adventure, freedom, and overall capability. Every Jeep vehicle, including the Wrangler Freedom edition, has its own story.
