Jeep Among Winter X Games Sponsors
This year the 15th Winter X Games returns to Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen Colo from Jan. 28-31. Organized by ESPN since 1997, this year’s event will feature many of the biggest winter athletes ranging from snowboarding, skiing and SnoCross.
Saturday and Sunday will have the some of most watched sporting events ranging from the GoPro Ski Big Air final to the men’s and women’s ski and snowboard slopestyle finals, and the SuperPipe finals, both presented by Jeep.
All of the competitions are free to the public and more than 200 athletes were invited to compete. Several of last year’s gold medalists will return in hopes to defend their title including Silje Norendal, last year’s gold medalist in women’s snowboard slopestyle, and Mark McMorris the men’s slopestyle snowboard gold medalist. Last year’s 15 year old, Chloe Kim, the youngest athlete ever to win a gold at the X Games, will also return to the half pipe.
While the winter sporting events are the main focus of the X Games, musical performances are an important element to the weekend event. This year’s music acts include Deadmau5, DJ Snake, Nas, Kygo, Run the Jewels and Twenty One Pilots.
In addition to tons of vendors on site, Jeep, one of the event’s official sponsors, will have a large tent and host activities during the action packed weekend.
