All-New Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is Most Powerful SUV Ever
This year FCA brought the horsepower to the New York International Auto Show. In addition to Dodge’s unveiling of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, Jeep unveiled the all-new 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, which is the most powerful and quickest SUV ever.
The new 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is equipped with the SRT Hellcat engine that powers the Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat models. The engine is a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI SRT Hellcat V8 engine that produces 707 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque. This engine makes it possible for the Grand Cherokee to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds and cover a quarter-mile in 11.6 seconds.
The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is the second SRT vehicle to join the Jeep family and SRT did more than just add an SRT engine to make it a true performance SUV. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk’s engine is paired to a TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission, that includes a five-mode driving system and a Bilstein adaptive damping suspension. SRT also equipped the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk with large Brembo brakes that give the vehicle incredible stopping power.
The interior of the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has been upgraded to compliment the Trackhawk’s performance engine and exterior. The new engine gives the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk a top speed of 180 mph, so it has an upgraded instrument cluster that has a 200-mph speedometer.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will be available in dealer showrooms in late 2017, and so far Jeep has not released pricing information. In the meantime, you can go for a test drive in Jeep’s other performance SUV, the Grand Cherokee SRT at Hollywood Chrysler Jeep. Come by and see us!
