New Details on Anticipated Jeep Pickup Truck, the Jeep Scrambler
The highly anticipated Jeep pickup truck finally has a name, the Jeep Scrambler JT, according to JeepScramblerForum.com, and they have also revealed more details, too! The information JeepScramblerForum.com has is said to have been given information from insiders, so it is believed to be pretty accurate.
The Scrambler name is the same name for the original Jeep pickup truck that was produced in the ‘80s and Jeep’s trademark for Scrambler was renewed in 2015. In addition to the Scrambler name, the Jeep pickup truck will also be referred to as the, JT, which is the model’s generation designation.
MSN has confirmed that the Scrambler JT and the next generation Wrangler JL will both be available with a 3.0-liter diesel engine, but no other engine details have been confirmed, but it’s likely that the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine will be an option as well.
According to photos and speculation on Jeep forums, the Scrambler will be longer than the Wrangler Unlimited JK, so we can guess that the pickup will have four doors in addition to a truck bed. It is still unclear if the Scrambler will have the same platform as the Wrangler JK, which is the current model generation designation of the Wrangler, or if it will share the same platform as the soon-to-be released next generation Wrangler JL.
The new Jeep Scrambler is said to be available as a 2019 model year, but we don’t know whether it will be available in late-2018 or sometime in 2019.
