Jeep vehicles are known for adventure, off-roading, traveling and the outdoors. Though Jeeps were originally developed as rugged military vehicles in 1941, today the Jeep lineup has a lineup of vehicles that are equipped with a variety of luxury features and maintain their off-roading capabilities.  Here’s a look at the most upscale Grand Cherokee, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit is available as a two- or four-wheel drive vehicle and it sports the Grand Cherokee’s sturdy yet sporty exterior design. The Grand Cherokee Summit is equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 24-valve VVT engine paired to a 8-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission. This engine gives the Jeep Grand Cherokee an average fuel economy of 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

As the most upscale Grand Cherokee trim, the Summit is loaded with several convenience and technology features on both the inside and outside of the vehicle. Buyers have plenty of options to customize their vehicle as there are three interior and seven exterior color options.

The vehicle’s buckets seats are leather trimmed and heated and the front seats are ventilated, making it a great vehicle in summer or winter. The back row seat is a 60/40 split folding seat, so when extra cargo space is needed drivers can easily make extra room.

Entertainment and Tech Features

The entertainment and audio system in the Grand Cherokee Summit is top-of-the-line. The Summit has 19 Harman Kardon speakers and a subwoofer that provides great sound for music listening. There is an 8.4-inch touchscreen display, which links up to the media hub, HD radio, SiriusXM and the 8.4 Uconnect infotainment and navigation system.

In addition to the interior tech, there is also ParkSense Front / Rear Park Assist with Stop, which is an exterior safety tech feature that comes standard on the Grand Cherokee Summit.

The safety system uses sound waves to detect nearby obstacles in and near the rear path of the vehicle to help drivers maneuver in tight spaces at parking speeds. It also provides an automatic stopping function when it detects possible collisions or obstacles when in reverse gear.

The Grand Cherokee Summit and a few of the other Grand Cherokee trims, like the Overland and the High Altitude, come standard with heated side mirrors, and a beautiful dual pane sunroof, which allows for great views when off-roading in mountainous terrains.

Exterior features that are unique to the Grand Cherokee Summit trim include platinum accent claddings and a sunscreen acoustic laminate glass on the rear window. Additionally, the Grand Cherokee Summit rides on all-season tires and 20-inch aluminum polished wheels, but 20-inch satin carbon rims are an available option to buyers. The vehicle is equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system and a compact spare tire in case of a flat.
