Hollywood Chrysler Jeep SEMA Jeep Surge

It’s that time of year again; the annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) is back and better than ever in Las Vegas, Nevada, early next November (2022). Mopar, the parts, service, and customer care division of Stellantis (parent company of Chrysler and Jeep), is bringing the heat as it teased a few vehicles that’ll be on display at SEMA. Of course, the teasers revealed very little, and Mopar didn’t share any specs about any of these heavily modified beasts. Mopar did, however, release several sketches that hint at what vehicles will be on display. Mopar is no stranger to showcasing the power of customized Jeep vehicles–the OEM purveyor is on track to show off plenty of quality-tested, factory-backed performance parts and accessories at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Mopar

2022 marks the 85th anniversary of Mopar. Born from a line of antifreeze products first introduced in 1937, Mopar evolved over the past 85 years as an official parts and accessories manufacturer. The company even made a mark by offering complete vehicle care programs and products as the years passed as well. The 1960s cemented Mopar as a real player in the automotive industry, delivering some of the best performance parts during the muscle-car era. Subsequently, after the muscle-car era success, Mopar expanded its business scope to include customer support, technical service, and much more. Nowadays, Mopar is dedicated to enhancing customer and dealer support across the globe.

Jeep Surge

Only one sketch features a Jeep Wrangler 4xe, dubbed the “Surge.” While the sketch (pictured above) doesn’t offer up too many details, it’s obvious this is a 4xe undertaking as Jeep wants to showcase just how good its plug-in hybrid Wrangler fares on the trail. There is, however, a subtle EV badge visible on the “Surge,” possibly indicating there are more electrified possibilities on the horizon for the automaker. Throughout the past few years, Mopar has been pouring all of its talents into demonstrating how well electrification and off-roading can mix. Previous concepts shown at SEMA have been plug-in hybrid Wrangler 4xe models clad in Beadlock-capable wheels, extreme off-road tires, JPP Gorilla Glass windshields, and more.

SEMA concepts delivered by Mopar don’t only look to the future; plenty of vehicles in the past have incorporated plenty of Jeep heritage. In fact, on some occasions, Mopar has been known to restore, remodel and reset older Jeep vehicles–all to showcase how adaptable their performance parts and accessories really are.
