New Chrysler Model to Hit the Road in 2025

Chrysler CEO Christine Feuell has reiterated the brand’s commitment to launching its first electric vehicle, built on the STLA platform, by 2025. This two-row, all-electric crossover signifies the beginning of a brand renaissance. Feuell further mentioned that the forthcoming model will draw inspiration from the Airflow concept unveiled in 2022. However, it’s worth noting that, as previously highlighted, there will be significant distinctions between the upcoming model and the concept.
Although the design hints offered by the Airflow concept are not completely abandoned, the CEO has assigned Stellantis Chief Design Officer, Ralph Gilles, the responsibility of creating a unique and eye-catching vehicle for Chrysler. Earlier in the year (2023), Gilles mentioned that the design concepts presented by the Airflow “will undergo further development as we explore the theme more extensively.” He described the initial concept as “just the opening chapter of the narrative” and, in May (2023), noted that the initial response to the upcoming model had been overwhelmingly favorable.
Although the forthcoming vehicle will take cues from the Airflow concept, it’s improbable that it will carry the same name. Earlier this year, the CEO indicated that the company was considering various names, including some inspired by the brand’s historical models and entirely new options. She did underscore, however, that the chosen name would not adhere to the alphanumeric naming convention.
In addition to confirming Chrysler’s upcoming two-row crossover in 2025, Feuell shared insights into the brand’s future lineup during a Reuters conference. She mentioned the potential addition of a new sedan following the phase-out of the 300 model. Moreover, Chrysler intends to offer the Pacifica minivan with a hybrid powertrain through the end of the decade. In addition to vehicle updates, Feuell is leading efforts to enhance the customer experience with the brand. Chrysler is currently testing a digital “customer experience” website, enabling buyers to configure, place orders, and arrange vehicle delivery. The automaker is also exploring the use of artificial intelligence in its customer support call centers.
For the time being, the automaker has three products in its portfolio – the Chrysler 300, Pacifica (& Pacifica Hybrid), and the Voyager which became fleet-only for the 2022 model year. These models are likely to be replaced with more modern offerings that’ll mark “a vast departure from what’s in the market today.” Chrysler is rumored to add at least two more crossovers in the coming model years, with at least one of them being a family-oriented people-hauler.
