The Jeep Gladiator Strikes Again
The Jeep Gladiator strikes again, once again earning a “Truck of the Year” designation — this time from the Rocky Mountain Automotive Press (RMAP). This marks yet another occasion in which the Gladiator earns top honors in its model launch year, with one of the most impressive honors earlier this year as the North American Truck of the Year.
In order to earn RMAP’s Truck of the Year distinction, the vehicle nominating committee takes into account a variety of attributes, including fuel economy, value, vehicle features, and performance. After a thorough evaluation, the nominating committee narrows down the field to three finalists. Once they’ve got their three finalists, the entire RMAP membership votes. After the votes are tallied, they announce the winner, which in this year’s case happens to be the 2020 Jeep Gladiator.
“As the voting finished up for the Rocky Mountain automotive Press vehicle of the year, we were thrilled to have the 2020 Jeep Gladiator come out on top. When it comes to an iconic name, Jeep has to be one of the top in the industry and we at RMAP definitely felt the new Gladiator was worthy of this award. We are thrilled to have it as our Truck of the Year in the Rocky Mountain region,” said RMAP President Craig Conover.
The Rocky Mountain Vehicle of the Year awards launched 14 years ago with the goal of recognizing pickups that are either all-new or revised for the respective model year. Vehicles have to be in the Rocky Mountain regional press fleet and available for RMAP members to test in order to be eligible for the award. RMAP is composed of media members from the following states: Kansas, Nebraska, Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming, Utah, and of course Colorado. RMAP members serve to inform the public on how to make educated choices when it comes to leasing or buying a vehicle. RMAP journalists regularly interact with automotive executives, engineers, designers, and other representatives to learn about vehicles and they regularly receive fleet vehicles for review and testing purposes.
